What are SubSchool's virtual meeting norms and guidelines?
We strive to make meetings as interactive and productive as possible. To do this, we ask that participants follow our guidelines and norms.
Shared Norms
Shared Norms
RESPECT CONFIDENTIALITY: We want this to be a safe space for everyone. Please don't share the stories or opinions of your peers, take screenshots, or otherwise compromise the confidentiality of our learning community.
MAKE SPACE: We want you to be an active participant, but also need to make space for everyone. Make space for your colleagues by not dominating the conversation.
BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER: Give your full attention to the speaker, be open to what they are sharing, and show with your body language that you are listening (for example, face the camera, nod, or lean in).
SPEAK WITH KINDNESS: This is a community for learning and that requires people to be vulnerable with each other. Be kind and supportive, especially when your peers share difficult stories or ask for advice and guidance. Assume positive intent.
BE REFLECTIVE: Listen to your colleagues' challenges, ask questions, and reflect on what you might do in their shoes to enhance your own learning. Remember, it's not your job to solve your colleagues' dilemmas, it is your job to help them reflect and maybe offer a new perspective.
